BINGE/BYNGE

We are six cousins researching the same family from various parts of the world. Our research goes back to the middle of the 17th century in Swavesey,Cambridgeshire..there is earlier research on the Internet but it is suspect and has by no means been proven as yet. All the research on these pages can be verified. For the next hundred or so years the family can be found in Dry Drayton,Cambridgeshire..which is the picture on this welcome page. Sometime about 1850..the more intrepid members of the family found their way to Australia and New Zealand. The story is ongoing and we are constantly adding to it!

HOBSON

The HOBSON family can be traced back to the Village of Histon In Cambridgeshire in the 16th Century

TUTHILL/TUTTLE

The Tuthill/Tuttle (and many more derivations of this name) came from Central Norfolk;places such as Coston,Reymerston,Hardingham, and Shipdham. They were mainly agricultural labourers. There are Tuthill folk who go back to the 1200's in the same area, I have only managed to track mine down to the middle of the 1700's as yet!

DODD

The earliest mention of the Dodd Family is of a Robert Dodd in Co.Mayo, Ireland, with family "connections" in Roscommon. Other Counties they have been associated with are Co.Leitrim and in recent times, Co.Sligo.

HOLMES

The HOLMES family came from Great Yarmouth,Norfolk,England. I can trace them back to the middle of the 18th Century. Three generations of them were twine spinners(rope makers). HOLMES is still a very common name in the Great Yarmouth area and as there were many sons I have great hopes of finding a few cousins!

TENANT/TENNENT

My earliest TENANT came From Gressenhall,Norfolk,England.

ALDERSON

The ALDERSON family were known as the family of Gamekeepers. The family can be traced back in North Riding,Yorkshire to a dubious Miles ALDERSON..but a positive John Of KELD who was married about 1639..he was my x 8 grandfather. There is an ALDERSON Family History Society, the UK branch secretary can be contacted at: Godfrey C.ALDERSON..you are expected to become a member to receive help from their extensive database..the membership fee is £8 sterling UK and EU residents. Overseas residents £10, US $18, Cdn $24, Aus £22.

BAKER

The BAKER family can be traced back to Uggeshall in Suffolk,England. Dates and places have been taken from old documents researched by a vicar who did not date his work. I would estimate that it was at least 60 years ago. The documents are now old and very delicate. James was a wheelwright and I don't really have much idea of what the rest of the family did.

ALLEN

This is the Allen family..many of them butchers and farmers who lived in Norfolk in the Hemsby and Winterton area in the County of Norfolk.
